Palazzo Porta Portese boasts an unparalleled location, profoundly steeped in Roman history. The residence is nestled within an ancient guard post—once essential for defense—situated right by the imposing Aurelian Walls and the famous Porta Portese, secular witnesses to the imperial grandeur of Rome.
The accommodation enjoys a direct and privileged position on one of the most evocative banks of the Tiber River. The proximity to the historic Ponte Sublicio—one of the oldest and most captivating bridges in Rome—establishes a direct and tangible access point to the city's millenary narrative.
This location guarantees guests not only a breathtaking view of the waterway but also establishes a strategic starting point from which to explore the heart of the Capital with absolute ease. An exclusive accommodation experience is accessed, set within the beating heart of Roman antiquity.
For those travelling by car, the address to set on your satnav is Piazza di Porta Portese, 8. Please note that the Porta Portese area and the neighbouring districts of Trastevere are subject to Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) restrictions, with access restrictions in place during the evening and on public holidays. We recommend that you carefully consult the current municipal regulations before entering the area to avoid penalties. As there is no private car park available, you can use the paid parking spaces (blue lines) in the adjacent streets, or choose one of the private secure car parks nearby, in the Testaccio or Trastevere neighbourhoods.
For those arriving by train, the most convenient and closest station is Roma Trastevere, easily accessible by regional train FL1 from both Fiumicino Airport and Rome Termini Central Station. Once you arrive at Roma Trastevere, the Palazzo is only a 10-minute taxi ride or a pleasant 20-minute walk through part of the charming neighbourhood.
Alternatively, you can take the Metro Line B (Blue). We recommend getting off at the Piramide stop, from which the residence can be reached in a few minutes by taxi or by continuing with surface transport.
From Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino – FCO): The fastest and recommended route is to take the FL1 regional train towards Fara Sabina/Orte and get off at Roma Trastevere station. If you prefer the convenience of a direct transfer, the taxi service or a private transfer takes about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic.
From Rome-Ciampino Airport (CIA): The fastest option is by taxi or private transfer (approximately 30-40 minutes). For those opting for public transport, shuttle buses are available to the railway or underground stations, from where you can proceed as indicated above.
The most convenient bus lines are the H and 170. Both depart from Termini Station (Rome's main hub) and stop in the immediate vicinity (at the "Porta Portese" or "Emporio" stops). Bus lines 44 and 75 are also useful.
